Nobody can stop Bayern Munich
An extraordinary season comes to an end. Bayern Munich also could not be stopped by Wolfsburg on the final day. In the end, Hansi Flick's team won 4-0 against the Lower Saxony hosts. Bayern Munich scored 100 goals in the 2019/2020 season. The current record in the Bundesliga is 101 goals, also set by the legendary FC Bayern Munich of Gerd Mueller and Franz Beckenbauer in 1972.

The champions' run in the second half of the season was spectacular - in 17 matches, the club won 16 games and drew only once. After 34 rounds, the team from Saebener Strasse secured a total of 82 points, finishing 13 points ahead of runners-up Borussia Dortmund.

This was their 30th championship in their history and the eighth title in a row. The German Bundesliga title was clinched two rounds before the end of the season at the Weser Stadium in Bremen. This was the first time in Bundesliga history that the title was decided in Bremen.

Hansi Flick took over from Niko Kovac after 10 rounds - under his leadership, the Bavarians won 21 out of 24 Bundesliga games and, on matchday 20, they regained the top of the table and secured the Bundesliga championship. As a coach, Flick had a win rate of 88% - the highest in Bundesliga history - followed by Pep Guardiola with 80%.

An important part of his success is also due to the international striker Lewandowski - the Polish star scored an incredible 34 goals throughout the season, setting a new record - the highest number of goals ever scored by a foreign player.

Ferguson begged on the phone to sign Cristiano
In 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract with Manchester United, where the career of the current international star began. The then unknown Portuguese came specifically as a result of a request from former coach Sir Alex Ferguson.

The initial plan was completely different. The 18-year-old was supposed to continue playing for Sporting Lisbon after signing the contract. However, during a test match against Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo made a great impression on coach Ferguson, in particular, who promptly changed his mind. The new plan was: to bring Cristiano immediately!

By the 45th minute, this was already clear to Ferguson: Cristiano Ronaldo should come soon. At halftime, the then-manager received a call and was informed of the new plans. The next day, the Manchester United team finally departed, with the coach taking Cristiano back to England.

Manchester United originally wanted to bring Ronaldinho to the Premier League in 2003, but in the end, for financial reasons, they changed their minds. Instead, they invested 19 million Euros in Cristiano Ronaldo, who became an exceptional player and a mega star with the Red Devils.

For Manchester United, he played a total of 292 matches and scored 118 goals. He won the Premier League three times and the Champions League in 2008, beating Chelsea on penalties in the all-English final in Moscow. After regular time and extra time, the score was 1-1, and Cristiano Ronaldo was named Man of the Match by fan votes. Ronaldo scored in the 26th minute for the Red Devils, opening the scoring.

EURO 2020 postponed to 2021
The European Football Championship planned for 2020 will not take place this year and will be postponed to the summer of 2021. Despite this change of plans, the number of host cities will be maintained at 12. Among them is Munich - which will host a total of 4 matches in the long-awaited tournament. There would be three group matches of the German national team and one quarter-final. In addition, Euro 2021 games will also take place in Rome, Baku, St. Petersburg, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Bucharest, Bilbao, Dublin and Budapest.

In some cities, however, there were several uncertainties that have since been resolved. All partner cities have also given their guarantees for 2021.

There will be no renaming of the event - although the tournament will take place between June 11th and July 11th, 2021, the name "EURO 2020" will be maintained. The background to this is that UEFA wants to maintain the celebration of the 60 years of the European Football Championship (1960-2020).

The opening match of the European Championship will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, with the final match being played a month later at Wembley Stadium in London, after a total of 51 matches. There will also be a match in Baku, an Asian city.

The postponement of the EURO is not inconvenient for the German national team - superstar Leroy Sane, who suffered a serious injury in August 2019, will have more time to adapt to the postponement. The same goes for Niklas Suelle, the Bayern defender who also ruptured his ligament in October 2019.

The juniors will also not play until 2021 - the Under-21 European Championship is scheduled to take place in the summer of 2021, in Hungary and Slovenia. The event will be divided into two phases - the final is scheduled for June 6, 2021 in Ljubljana.

Since the 31st round it was clear: Liverpool would put an end to a 30-year drought and become the English champion. But it was only after round 37, and a furious 5-3 triumph over rival Chelsea, that Juergen Klopp's team received the trophy. For the successful German coach and for Liverpool, this is the third major achievement after winning the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.

"This means the world to me. It would be perfect with the fans in the stadium, but it's still a great moment for me," were Klopp's words to Sky TV after this exciting match.

Although the confrontation against Chelsea didn't have much more relevance at that point, TV viewers were able to watch a football spectacle with a total of 8 goals. At Anfield Road, Liverpool led 3-1 at halftime, but things got exciting when Chelsea came close to a 3-4 score. But in the end, Oxlade-Chamberlain, after a Robertson assist, gave the final touch and scored 5-3.

Thus, Liverpool won the 19th league title - only Manchester United managed to collect more Premier League titles so far (20). After 30 years, Liverpool FC fans were finally ready to celebrate again - between 1976 and 1990, the then champions won the league ten times in 15 years. This sequence was followed by a long drought, which finally came to an end in 2020. Although the police ordered fans to stay home, according to official reports, about 3000 fans were celebrating at the stadium.

The German coach played an important role in Liverpool's progress - after taking office in October 2015, he turned the team into a top club.
Ronaldo and the mystery of the 1998 World Cup final

His goal: to help his team win the remaining 90 minutes of the World Cup and also win the Golden Boot as the top scorer. However, there was a big surprise: Ronaldo's name was not on the team sheet.

Speculations started to run wild instantly. The media desperately tried to find out why the world's best player would miss the biggest game of his career. There were rumors that his knee injury had worsened and, more worryingly, that he had suffered a seizure. But suddenly, just before kick-off, a new team sheet appeared - this time, the number 9 was listed. However, the striker was unable to repeat his previous performances in the tournament and France won 3-0.

What really happened that day is still not clear today. On the day of the big final, Ronaldo suffered a severe attack in the team hotel after lunch. His whole body contracted heavily and he began foaming at the mouth. Roberto Carlos shouted for help, followed by his teammates Edmundo and César Sampaio who rushed into the room. When the medical team arrived, Ronaldo fell asleep. It is said that the team doctor Toledo cried when he left the room - he thought the situation was very serious. When Ronaldo woke up, none of his teammates told him what had happened.

But Ronaldo seemed worried after he got up, Toledo explained the situation and requested some medical tests. As soon as it was verified that the test results were positive, Ronaldo was called back to the team, despite the protest of some teammates.

The most common conspiracy theory is that a sponsor forced Ronaldo's selection. Some claimed that there was a clause in the contract and that Brazil was obliged to let Ronaldo play. Another theory is that the incident was the result of severe stress or an illness that Ronaldo kept secret for his entire life.

To this day, the details about Ronaldo and the 1998 World Cup final are still unclear. It is possible that only the legendary number 9 knows what really happened.
Johan Cruyff - the Dutchman who reinvented football
No other player is as associated with the number 14 as Johan Cruyff. The Dutchman shaped and changed football, both as a player and as a coach. First with the Ajax youth club, then with FC Barcelona. In total, the "football king" won 34 titles - 23 as a player and 11 as a coach. In addition, he won 10 individual awards, including 3 Ballon d'Ors between 1971 and 1974.

In total, the "football king" won 34 titles - 23 as a player and 11 as a coach. In addition, he won 10 individual awards, including 3 Ballon d'Ors between 1971 and 1974.

Son of a fruit and vegetable merchant, Cruyff grew up in poor conditions in the district of Betondorp in Amsterdam. His home was just a few minutes away from Ajax's old stadium - De Meer. As a boy, the Dutchman relied on his technique, but above all on his mind. Later, Cruyff could be found everywhere on the field: he always left his mark on his team's game, whether as a playmaker, finisher, or winger.

With Cruyff as the team's leader, no other team in Europe shaped the sixties and early seventies more than Ajax Amsterdam. In addition to six league titles and four cup victories, Ajax won the European Cup three times. The focus was on the concept of "Voetbal Totaal" football, which he helped develop. Cruyff himself once said, "I stand for a time when it was proven that football can be attractive and successful at the same time, and that it can also be a lot of fun."

Later, the Dutchman followed his coach and teammate Michels to FC Barcelona and secured the club's first title in 14 years. His greatest influence with the Catalans, however, was as a coach. With now successful coach Pep Guardiola as the team's brain, Johan Cruyff introduced possession-oriented football and won the European Cup for the first time with the club. He justified his approach to the game with the words "If we have the ball, they can't score a goal".

In 2016, the Dutch legend died of lung cancer. But his philosophy lives on in Amsterdam and Barcelona to this day.

Erling Haaland: The Norwegian Superstar - Success Story So Far
Every great football player has a breakout season where they announce themselves to the world and catch the attention of the footballing world with their phenomenal talent. For Norwegian Erling Haaland, it was the 2019/2020 season where he went goal crazy first for RB Salzburg and then in the latter half of the season for Borussia Dortmund.

Son of a professional footballer, Haaland was born in Leeds. He later grew up in Bryne, Norway where he started his football career. After a strong season with the reserve team, scoring 18 goals in 14 games, he made his professional debut at just 15 years old.

In 2017, he moved to Molde FK where he trained under former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. His second season in the national league saw him under the spotlight, scoring four goals in just 17 minutes in a league game against SK Brann.

In January 2019, he moved to Austrian league champions RB Salzburg. In his first season, the Norwegian played for Salzburg only five times. However, he ended the season as a sensation: in the U-20 World Cup, Haaland scored nine times in a 12-0 win over Honduras.

Haaland, then aged 19, proved his goal-scoring abilities early in the 2019 season in Austria. He scored his first hat-trick for Red Bull against Wolfsberger AC. Another four hat-tricks followed, including his Champions League debut against KRC Genk. At the end of the first half of the season, Haaland had an impressive goal-scoring record with RB: in 22 games, he scored 28 goals.

As a result, many top clubs showed interest in the Norwegian. Haaland decided to join Borussia Dortmund. And the young player also did not need much time to settle in at BVB. Haaland scored three goals in his first Bundesliga game against Augsburg. Alongside Aubameyang, the Norwegian was the only player to score 3 goals in his debut. At the end of the season, the BVB striker had scored 13 times in 15 games. And he also scored 2 goals in the Champions League - where he now has 10 goals.
Pelé - an impressive career and over 1000 goals
It all started when Pelé was about ten years old. In 1950, Brazil hosted the World Cup. The young Brazilian was still a spectator at the time - Brazil suffered one of the most painful defeats in the country's football history in the final, losing 1-2 to neighboring Uruguay. According to his own statement, his father suffered so much that he had to cry. Pelé promised him that one day he would win the World Cup for his country.

According to his own statement, his father suffered so much that he had to cry. Pelé promised him that one day he would win the World Cup for his country.

Just 8 years later, at the 1958 World Cup, the time had come. At 17, Pelé led his country to victory with two goals in the final against Sweden. Other World Cup titles came in tournaments in 1962 and 1970, and among them he won 3 national club championships, two South American titles, and even the world club championship in 1963 with Santos.

Despite his small stature, the Brazilian was a giant on the field. He was blessed with speed, agility, control, strength, and an incredible ability to predict the movements of his opponents and teammates. In total, he scored 1,282 goals in 1,363 matches during his career.

One of the biggest highlights was his thousandth goal. He scored from a penalty kick against Vasco da Gama at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on November 19, 1969 - an important milestone for the Brazilian. More than 80,000 fans applauded him. Many fans stormed the field, his teammates carried him on their shoulders, and the game could only continue after a long interruption.

Pelé announced his retirement in 1974, before accepting a $7 million contract to play for the New York Cosmos in 1975. In 1977, he led the Cosmos to win a championship and made a major contribution to the promotion of football in the United States.
The Fall of Goetze and Schuerrle - from World Cup Heroes to Average Players

The peak of the two young players' careers.

In 2020, six years later, the world seems completely different. There is little left of the fame from the World Cup. Goetze, without a contract, is looking for a new club, while Schuerrle has ended his football career at the age of 29. After Schuerrle's contract was terminated, the managing director of Borussia Dortmund, Watzke, said: "Definitely not a success story for either side." The same words would also describe Goetze's second period with BVB. Suffering from illnesses and injuries, the midfielder failed to meet high expectations. In the last game of the 2019/2020 season, Goetze was not on the team roster.

Even in his time with Bayern Munich, Goetze was unable to deliver a strong performance. One of his coaches at the time, Carlo Ancelotti, suggested that he move to another club.

This was precisely the way of working in football that André Schuerrle criticized after ending his career. In football, only the on-field performance counts. According to him, the sector does not allow emotions to be shown: "You always have to play a certain role to survive in business. Otherwise, you'll lose your job and never get another one."

Schuerrle described his experience in Rio as the best moment of his life. "Everything was right. The team spirit, the organization, the hotel on the beach."
Real Madrid crowned the new champion of Spain
With a 2-1 victory over Villarreal, Real Madrid won their 34th title in the club's history, with only one round remaining in the season. As usual in recent weeks, striker Karim Benzema scored twice to decide the game almost entirely on his own. The Frenchman contributed a total of 21 goals to this title. Benzema scored 7 of these goals in the 11 games after the league break. Of those 11 games, Real Madrid won 10.

Benzema scored 7 of these goals in the 11 games after the league break. Of those 11 games, Real Madrid won 10.

Another Frenchman, Zinedine Zidane, also played an important role in the title. The coach managed to give the team the right level of motivation after a slow start to the season. His team remained undefeated at home throughout the season. It is his 2nd title in the league as a coach. He has already won the Copa del Rey twice, and even the Champions League three times.

Captain Sergio Ramos also proved to be the standout player throughout the season, with the best performances. The Spaniard scored 11 goals in the league and made 1 assist for another - the best numbers for a defender. Ramos has scored a total of 72 times in the Spanish top-flight, more than any other defender. In second place in this ranking is the current Dutch national team coach Ronald Koeman, who scored 68 goals. Fernando Hierro scored 105 goals in his career in the league, but scored almost half of them (44) in his time as a midfielder.

And, of course, as in every title win, defensive performance was also a major deciding factor. Real Madrid conceded only 25 goals in 38 games. Madrid never conceded fewer goals in a 38-game season - a club record. As a result, goalkeeper Courtois won the Zamora Trophy, awarded to the goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded since the 1958/59 season.

The role of rivals Barcelona should also not be underestimated. The Catalan team almost withdrew from the title race with three draws between the 30th and 33rd rounds. Lionel Messi summed up his team's season in simple words: "We were a weak team."
